Taigas seterra
“Pine trees grew wide, tall, and dark green around the lake. They were larger than the trees back home.
Zalina had to tip her head all the way back to see where they ended.”
OLLAOISE SPIRIT LOCUS
Ollaoise Forest, Taigas
GEOGRAPHY
Biomes: Tundra, boreal forest, montane, high alpine, savanna, and a little temperate broadleaf, a little chaparral
History: In the earliest of days, the Tuttuán occupied the northern coasts while the Nukopan lived in the forests.
Prior to the first war of the Montane nations, (15,020 YBP), after which the Comocents migrated into southern Taigas, Odowayji territory extended from Montane’s great lakes up to modern day Catacomb Lake; the Bilawáxan lived throughout the entirety of the Spine of the Earth; and the Tatankoy occupied all of the Taigas savanna.
9,000 YBP, the Comocents split into two groups: half migrated to Lacuserra and eventually become the Flüschen, Yiúsians, and Desnordians. The other half to stay in Taigas evolved into the Lyziver peoples.
5,776 YBP, The Lyzivers first initiated war with the Nukopan for dominance in Taigas. The Nukopan, Tuttuán, and Keepers allied in a war for the Lesto Plains of Borea and Taigas. The Lyzivers won and began to claim more of the Taigas seterras for themselves.
Over five millennia, the Lyzivers also had ongoing territory wars with the Bilawáxan for the Spine of the Earth in Taigas, eventually claiming the mountains 950 YBP. At this point, the Lyzivers occupied the southern plains and western mountains of Taigas.
Despite the Lyziver’s kingdom’s expansion, the Ollaoise Forest remained heavily wooded and wild. Cathair, a port north in the north, retained ethnic diversity and served as a kind of cultural melting pot. A few Nukopan tribes continued to live in the Ollaoise, and some Tuttuán villages remained on the northern shores. The Lyzivers didn’t live or travel north of North Star Lake.
The Desnords initiated war with the Lyzivers for the plains of Taigas following their adoption of the Power, 600 YPB. The Desnords won their campaigns in eastern Taigas by 585 YBP and established the Nudom and North Desnord protectorates. By 518 YBP, the Desnords claimed the rest of the Tagias seterra from the Lyzivers and established the Central, Grevier, Militian, and Iceland territories. Following the Three Kingdoms Union, the six territories of Taigas became part of the Imperium.
